Go, Esks, Go!

Three Edmonton Eskimo cheerleaders and an Eskimo football player came to visit our school in September. We learned how to do a cheer, made pompoms, and talked a lot about football. As the day for Grey Cup approached, we were all excited about who would win!

As part of our Math program, we decided to make a graph and predict what the score would be for the football game. We invited the parents and neighboring teachers to make their predictions as well.

Following are some photos to share our creation of a celebration sign for our Esks' homecoming! We hung it out by the freeway so the maximum number of people could cheer along with us!

The children loved writing about the Eskimos and the Grey Cup game.

It was such a great thrill to have representatives from the Edmonton Eskimo team, as well as from the cheerleading team. Yeah for the Mascot, too!

After the cheerleaders had us practise a cheer, we decided to try our hand at it as well. We divided up into teams. Just like in Math, we decided to create word patterns and action patterns for our cheers. Below are two samples of how we recorded our cheer actions.

Congratulations, Esks!
